High Quality Visual Experience: Processing and Presentation of Color Visual Information

Brief biography

Yeong-Ho Ha received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Korea, in 1976 and 1978, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1985. He joined the Department of Electronics Engineering, Kyungpook National University, where he is currently a Professor. He served as President and Vice President of the Korea Society for Imaging Science and Technology, and Vice President of the Institute of Electronics Engineering of Korea. His current research interests include color image processing, computer vision, digital signal and image processing. Professor Ha is an associate editor in JIST and fellows of IS&T and SPIE. He served as TPC Chair, Committee Member, and Organizing Committee Chair of many international conferences held in IEEE, SPIE, and IS&T, and domestic conferences.

강연초록

Nowadays, consumers demand enhanced features and greater quality of contents. Therefore, natural evolution of visualization technologies will be in the direction of fully realistic visual experience and highly precise imaging by considering how human perceives color in different environment conditions. This topic discusses current trends in processing the visual information to present the color information in realistic way for a better visual experience. In addition, this topic discusses next generation display trends and color reproduction in these displays.
